No Remorse: Cheyenne Cherry Put A Kitten In An Oven To Die, Do The Same To Her
17 July 2009, 9:00 AM. By Alejandro Paz
Cheyenne Cherry (pictured) is a little girl who unrepentantly pleaded guilty to animal cruelty and attempted burglary in the Bronx on Thursday. Cherry conspired to murder a little kitten named Tiger Lily with her 14 year old friend (who has a 5 month old baby) while breaking into Valerie Hernandez’s apartment and trashing it. Cherry said they put Tiger Lily into the oven and left her to die as a “just a joke.” The 17 year old Cherry, who has been arrested for dog-napping a teacup Yorkie and robbing a man of his iPod, each at gunpoint, was sentenced to only 1 year in jail and agreed to not own a pet for 3 years.
As Cherry left the courtroom, she greeted 15 animal rights activists with a wild grin, her tongue out and the statement, “She’s dead, bitch!” We’ll leave the 14 year old baby mama out of this, although she does provide color to Dave Chappelle’s classic debate, How old is 14 15 really? But Cheyenne Cherry deserves to spend time in an oven baking like that little baby kitten did.
Imagine this for a second. You’re Valerie Hernandez. You come home, your stuff is all over the place, the couch is ripped up and everything smells terribly. You scream out for your beloved new kitten and look around in vain. You notice the oven is on at 500 degrees. HOLY FUCKING SHIT. You open the door and you see a charred teeny tiny carcass in the shape of you don’t even want to say. What would you do? Can you imagine how you would feel? What if the two little bitches who did this said shit like they hate cats and they left the apartment as your Tiger Lily was screaming in pain and scratching the oven door? Would you want those people to serve only a year in prison? Or would you want to seek them out and punish them yourself with a vengeful intensity inspired by the murder of your helpless baby girl?
Animals are not afforded the same protection under the law as humans for obvious reasons. But pets are a certain set of animals that are treated by humans in many, if not most, instances as one of the family. Some people have pets instead of children and treat them as such. In many cases, our justice system fails at administering appropriate justice and this case is a blatant miscarriage. If you jail a 17 year old unrepentant girl for one year, you will get an angry, amped up, unrepentant woman at the end of the sentence. If you put Cheyenne Cherry in an oven at 500 degrees until she screams and scratches the door until you know she’s felt it, Cheyenne Cherry will learn an exceedingly valuable lesson. And she will never torture or murder an animal again. There is no question.

This is so messed up! Just because animals cant speak up for themselves, this doesnt give us the right to torture them or treat them poorly. Animals are pretty noble, give them a little love and they`ll love you back.
I currently have 3 cats so this story really gets to me.
one year is not enough, esp given her obvious lack of regret. she will just be worse when she gets out. i am disgusted by this woman. the problem is that the court system sees pets as property, not as people. so burning a cat is treated akin to burning a book in the oven. i understand the rationale for that, but as you point out, people do not see their pets as property. the law needs to take that into account.
I will personally volunteer to toss her into the oven.
I second that
I hope that bitch gets shanked in prison
Me too.
I personally hope my path crosses with hers one day, I have a 9 mm that would love to say hi to her face!
