Marc Anthony To Join Ranks Of Celebrities Who Own Sports Teams But Do Nothing

As we mentioned earlier, rumors are floating that Marc Anthony is in talks to become a minority owner with the Miami Dolphins. Should the deal go through he’ll be joining a growing fraternity of celebrities who’ve donned the custom jersey for reciprocal brand promotion. Synergy, feel it!
More often than not, celebrity involvement with a sports team has as much to do with marketing as a total love of the game. New York-native Anthony, for instance, is being approached by Dolphins team management as a part of a new initiative to increase Miami-area Latino interest in the club (Gloria and Emilio Estafan already signed on as minority owners–no pun–about a month ago.) But deep inside the heart of even the most cynical businessman is the heart of the kid, the sports fan who gets to join in on the fun. Let’s take a look at a few of our favorites who took their fandom to the next level.
