David Beckham returned to the L.A. Galaxy yesterday after a protracted contract dispute and got the kind of reception you’d expect from a guy skipping town to play somewhere else: he got booed soundly and repeatedly. But Becks is human, after all, so perhaps he can be forgiven for yelling and charging at angry fans. Or he could be mocked. Yes. That one.

Quckie background: after a disappointing injury-prone US premiere, Beckham started playing for Milan on loan from the Galaxy. Before long it became quite clear that he wanted to stay in Europe, gearing up for the 2010 World Cup, so negotiations for the star began months ago, eventually culminating in some lame-ass time share deal wherein Becks plays part of the year for Milan, shows up in L.A. for a few months, and then returns to Europe. Galaxy fans, who for some strange reason felt like they’d been swindled, reacted somewhat negatively:

beckhamprotestsignsWhoah - ho! He was booed all day, any time he touched the ball, even when he assisted on scoring a couple of goals. Finally, Beckham couldn’t take it anymore and just started screaming at fans, though some are claiming that he was actually trying to apologize to them or hug it out or something. One drunk fan, in particular, really got his goat and both men had to be restrained by security. To repeat: a drunk fan at a sporting event yelled at a player on the field, and that player on the field yelled back and cursed him out, after signing a contract that shits on said fan. What a dingus this guy is.

Anyway, check out the video and judge for yourself.  If Becks is, in fact, trying to apologize he should probably avoid the word “motherfucker.” That’s a little diplomatic tip from us to you, brah.
