Video: Sergio Jauregui Kicks Rival Leonardo Medina In The Face, Putting Bolivian Soccer On The Map

Sergio Jauregui, of Bolivia’s Blooming club, is facing a possible three year suspension for knocking rival Rival Leonardo Medina of Oriente Petrolero unconscious with a sneak-attack karate kick to the face. Video of all the fun after the jump.
The whole mess started during a fierce match between Oriente Petrolero and Blooming when the two players got tangled up, with Jauregui on the ground after taking a fierce elbow from Medina. He retaliated by chasing Medina down, shoving him to the ground. Both players were given red cards and thrown out of the match.
That’s when Jauregui, probably still all amped up after the initial fight, decided to just go for it, delivering a flying Matrix style kick (with cleats!) to Medina’s face. The clubs broke out into an all-out brawl, Medina was dragged to the hospital, and Jauregui fled the stadium and went into hiding. He later made a public apology to local media, but it may be too little too late. Medina’s injuries were relatively minor, only requiring twelve days of bed rest, but the local prosecutor still wants to file charges for “criminal aggression.” Check it out!
