16-Year Old Dylan Murray Cleared In Unlawful Sex Charge With 11-Year Old: Are We In Hell Already?

Just check out young Dylan Murray, cold strutting out of the courtroom in Perth, England Scotland, all victorious like R. Kelly, flashing the V’s for the camera. He just beat an unlawful sex charge for nailing an 11-year old girl, mostly because the judge realized she was a total slut. Kids!
Seriously, this whole thing is like the Muppet Babies of sex crimes. This 15-year old kid Dylan (now 16), he has sex a couple of times with this girl who takes pictures of them doing it in a park and then posts the pics to her Bebo page. And then she freaks out because she thinks she’s pregnant. At which point, Dylan learns that she’s eleven. The sheriff gets wind of their sexytime photos and arrests Dylan for “unlawful sex,” a charge that carries up to ten years in prison.
Just for a moment imagine that conversation, that actually happened, where this little guy said, “I swear to you judge, I had no idea she was eleven! She looked fifteen to me!” Shudder shiver.
What’s really weird about all this, though, is the way that it played out like pretty much any rape/sexual assault/sexual harassment case, just with little kids. Here’s Dylan’s advocate (lawyer):
Mr Renucci said: “She seems to be very much more mature for her age. It is very clear from these photographs she does not appear as an 11-year-old.
“It would be very difficult for anyone to think that girl was only 11, far less a boy who was only 15 at the time.”
Or, as McMurphy said in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, “She was fifteen years old, going on thirty-five, Doc.”
Now, the girl was a consenting partner (inasmuch as you can consent to anything when you’re 11 years old.) She got drunk on cider to steel herself up for it and then posted the pictures herself, even captioning one as “tits oot.” So maybe she is this mythical wild child succubus or whatever, but really the whole thing all around speaks to just a weirder, bigger cultural phenomenon. Is there really any doubt that this little girl is emulating “adult” pop starlets with their sex tapes and leaked nude photos that make them all the rage and suddenly legit? And is there any doubt that this little dude is taking his sexual assault trial behavior cues from celebrity adult role models?
Obviously, it’s only speculation, and we’re not discounting the (possibly much larger) influence of their personal day-to-day lives and tribulations. But lil’ Kobe and lil’ Vanessa Hudgens here picked it up from somewhere.
