5:55pm: And that's the motherfucking game, y'all. It's a Mexican celebration down on the field, we can tell despite half of it being shaded. There's a guy folding up his Stars and Stripes in the stands. That dude is getting a Corona in his face in 3...2...1.

5:53pm: Where was Clint Dempsey this match? Does he only show up against Spain and Brazil? We heard his name like twice.

5:51pm: This match is winding down. MX is playing keep away. The US ain't looking like history makers.

5:50pm: People are throwing cups at Donovan as he sets up for a corner. He's all like, owww, Mexicans are SO MEAN. What a baby.

5:45pm: GOOOOOOOOL!!!! Mexico does it. Like we said, Tim Howard was keeping the US in it and he got fucked on a rebound shot by Miguel Sabah who just came in for Franco. Fresh legs, right place, right time. 2-1 El Tri.

5:41pm: Cannot impress this upon you enough, Tim Howard is world-class. It should be 3-1 Mex right now.

5:38pm: Castillo is in for Guardado. Missed that earlier. Looks like Jozy is coming in too. Oh yeah, he's in for Davies. That's what you get for sulking. And missing cakewalk headers.

5:37pm: Whoa damn. Gio was tripped by two Americans which set up a free kick right outside the box. It was blocked easily (maybe by Holden's elbow), but then shit got chippy.

5:32pm: WOW. Poor Charlie Davies juuuuuust missed a header that was sure to go in. He's on the ground. Sulking.

5:30pm: DeMerit needs to be careful. He just knocked down a Mex in the same place as last time. Right by the dang goal. The free kick was well defended tho.

5:23pm: Torrado shot a LOOOONG range prayer that soared over the net. You get that Mexico is attacking nonstop, right? The US can only take so many attempts before Mexico successfully penetrates. They are aggressively seducing America's hole.

5:20pm: And Gio is obvs missing his soulsucking darling because he just shot a perfect opportunity right into Howard's chest for an easy deflection. He even set that shit up. BELINDAAA!!! Don't you ruin our curlyhaired phenom.

5:19pm: Not Jozy like we were hoping, but Feilharber is in for Ching and Holden is in for Clark. Belinda has yet to show her glittery face.

5:17pm: After another close call for Tim Howard, Mexico substitutes Vela for old ass Blanco. He looks like he needs an IV.

5:15pm: Oh hell yes. Carlos Vela is coming in. Will Bradley respond with Jozy?

5:12pm: Bocanegra just saved some asses right there. It was like 4 on 1. Mex keeps coming. Oh damn, Gooch had to head one out too. The MX corner amounted to nothing tho.

5:09pm: Salcido just stole the ball from Donovan while he was trying to do some tricky shit. Mexico is bringing their green waves towards Tim Howard.

5:07pm: Ok let's get back to it. 45 mas minutos! Damn, them girls are fine.

4:50pm: And that's half time. Both teams are happy, both teams are disappointed and everybody's restless. Goddamn that field looks nice.

4:49pm: Brutal tackle by Bocanegra got him a yellow card. That's the third for the US. He's all like, what?!?

4:46pm: Gooch Onyewu just broke up another good shot by Mexico. Franco didn't see him. AC Milan should be happy.

4:42pm: Dos Santos had a chance, but De Merit broke it up. Corner got fucked too. The Americans are bending, but Donovan's got a free kick right now. Headed out by Osorio. Corner for US now. Nothing. Osorio broke up that one too. Then took a dive on the ground with a shoulder injury. He's back.

4:37pm: Donovan just pooched a free kick out of bounds. Mexico is fighting hard. They're back at the US goal, looking for angles.

4:32pm: Gio got tripped near the goal by De Merit (who got a yellow) but the Howard punched the free kick attempt away.  It was tough tho. Looks like the US might give up another before the half.

4:30pm: The ball is staying in the midfield. Gooch just got a yellow card on a hand ball. Didn't see it.

4:23pm: GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!! This time para MEXICO! Holy shit, Castro knocked one in from WAY downtown off an assist from Blanco right between two punk ass Americans. It's game time, y'all.

4:20pm: Mexico just had a sweetly orchestrated free kick that Howard saved easily. Might be because Blanco looks like a fat old Gollum.

4:18pm: Mexican corner amounted to nothing. Gio Dos Santos is thinking of Belinda.

4:16pm: The shit on Javi Aguirre's pants is showing. Watch out. He might kick a player in the balls.

4:12pm: GOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!! And there it is. Charlie Davies got ahead of everyone and shot in a strike right over Ochoa. Bienvenidos to USA bitches!

4:10pm: The field design is striking. Whoever mows the lawn at El Estadio Azteca is a groundskeeping artist. Oh right, Mexicans.

4:08pm: The Telemundo announcers sound like they snorted more cocaine than usual. Big game.

4:06pm: Shot by Guardado saved by Howard. Then right back down with a shot from Davies saved by Ochoa. Tit for tat, but no scores.

4:04pm: KICKOFF! Annnnd...out of bounds.

4:01pm: Torrado won the toss. Tim Howard looks focused. And also bald.

3:58pm: National anthem time. El Tri is singing their's word for word. Along with the 100,000 in attendance. It's a tad more rejoiceful than the Star Spangled Banner. Holy shit this place is loud.

3:20pm: The pressure is on Mexico to win this game. Mexico's performance at the tournament stands at 2-3 with five matches to play. While US's 3-1-1 makes it a bit easier to withstand the pressure. The Mexican's have no margin for error, Uncle Sam has a parachute on this one. Nevertheless, the competitiveness factor is razor-edge sharp. The intensity and passion of the Mexican fan the hotter climate and altitude are all factors that the US has to dominate psychologically and physically to have a good chance.

That parachute is the Americans' 3-1-1 mark in the six-nation CONCACAF tournament, while Mexico stands at 2-3 with five matches to play. Only the top three teams are assured of a spot in South Africa 2010, while the fourth-place team must play off against the fifth-place side from South America.

3pm: The pre-game excitement has started, "it is palpable," says our correspondent Erick Mauser who just arrived to el Estadio Azteca. The historic stadium is one of the  largest sports coliseum in the world, holding 100,000 fans, most of them rooting for their home country of Mexico. USA has never beat Mexico in their home turf.
