Reggie Miller Told, Via Airplane Banner, To Quit Hitting On Some Guy’s Wife

Messing with other guys’ wives is tricky business, and there are any number of ways a dude can have that confrontation that puts the stop to it. But when you are as tenacious as retired NBA star Reggie Miller a restraining order just won’t do the trick, so you’ve got to bust out the airplane banner and take to the sky. Spike Lee loves this.

Depending on where you live, Reggie Miller is either (a) a sharp-shooting hero and NBA legend, (b) a loudmouth jerkhole without a ring or (c) the insufferable commentator on TNT who can barely speak. If you are California millionaire Alex Von Furstenberg, however, Reggie Miller is that creepy guy who met your fiancee a year ago at some party and just can’t get her out of his mind. Since meeting Ali Kay in July of last year, the retired Indiana Pacer has followed her around in his car and called and texted her constantly, because he’s a romantic. He even sent her 53 text messages one night, because he’s super-romantic. Oh, and when confronted by Von Furstenberg, Miller told him to back off because Reggie’s knows “people with guns.” (Stephen Jackson?)

Miller (and his attorney) subsequently apologized for all his stalker-y behavior in a phone call to Von Furstenberg, which leads one to wonder who shelled out the money to have this lovely message flown all up and down the California coast this weekend:

The banner, reading “REGGIE MILLER STOP PURSUING MARRIED WOMEN,” was flown from Malibu to Redondo on Friday afternoon. It is unclear whether Von Furstenberg is responsible, especially since Charles Barkley loves a good practical joke. Either way, this will hopefully do the trick, because all that’s left after this is carving a warning in the moon or something, and that shit is expensive.
