Latinas from Venezuela continued to rule everything that physically exists ever, as Stefania Fernandez was crowned Miss Universe 2009 last night in the Bahamas. She is the second consecutive and sixth all-time Miss Universe from Venezuela.

The eighteen year old model is also the second Miss Trujillo to go on to win the overall pageant, preceded by Bárbara Palacios in 1986. Outgoing Miss Universe Dayana Mendoza, also from Venezuela, was initially so excited that she dropped the tiara before being able to place it on Fernandez’s head. Fernandez took the title over the heavily favored Miss Australia, partially on the strength of her final question in which she pronounced that women in the workplace had reached full equality with men. We’d confront her with statistics about underemployment and wage disparity, but later. Pos, let her enjoy her special day.

The pageant, hosted by Billy Bush for some horrible reason, was also notable for featuring a “live” performance by Heidi Montag. And, yeah. Well, even having the best choreographer in the world couldn’t do a thing for that poor trainwreck.

Nice try. Anyway, the important thing is looking at a whole bunch of pictures of the prettiest girl in the universe in a swimsuit! Who’s with us?

But who is that handsome devil standing next to her?
