050408-002-tacotruckDude we fucking love tacos, taco trucks and ooh damn we love some huaraches. Street food is taking over the nation, and especially in places like my hood where there’s trucks and carts selling curry, cupcakes, creme brulee, all kinds of crazy culinary creations. And it’s good. But nothing compares to the tried and true Mexican style huaraches and posole.

From our perspective, you’re never gonna convince us that a bowl of the random shit in posole will ever compare to the dope ass crispy goodness of huaraches. But maybe you’d like to try. Today we ask a simple question: You’re at a taco truck, any time, any place, all else being equal, huaraches vs. posole: Who ya got?

Huaraches

Formulated in the streets of Mexico and brought straight to our hearts, huaraches are made up of flat-breaded bean-filled brilliance covered in stuff like grilled peppers and onions, carne asada, bacon, sprinkled queso fresco and dueling salsas to get the flavors popping. And they look like sandals. If there is a better breakfast after a long night night of drinking and thinking and stinking, let us know.

Posole

Pozole is soup. So, just take that into consideration. It’s generally made out of lime soaked corn, maiz blanco, and filled with a bunch of chiles, pork parts of various origination, hominy, and garnished with radish, cabbage and anything else that’s around. It can be good as fuck. If you’re into soup.

So now it’s voting time. Let us ask again: You’re at a taco truck, any time, any place, all else being equal, huaraches vs. posole: Who ya got?
