ciber-protesta-mexicanaEarlier today, members of a group called "Ciber Protesta Mexicana" (CPM) hacked into 33 different Mexican internet sites. Among the targets were the homepages for the state of Colima and Michoacan, as well as several newspaper sites. The content of the affected pages was changed to the image above. Below is a translation of the text that appeared with the "Viva Mexico Cabrones!" picture:
In a country where our leaders, deputies and senators think that we are blind, that we are deaf, that we are mute, that we wait patiently with fear, without will or protest, us Mexicans raise this peaceful cybernetic protest and say...We do see! We do hear! We do talk! We do think, talk, and act..."

It appears like a faction of the Mexican populace is fed up with the daily injustices they are subjected to and have once again taken matters in to their own hands. The CPM's hackings sort of remind us of the Mexican vigilantes who have gone after drug cartels, minus the gore and violence, of course.

As of this writing, all of the targeted sites are back up, except the homepage for the state of Colima.
