Apparently, USC's head coach Lane Kiffin doesn't think so. The man in charge of the University of Southern California has extended a scholarship offer to David Sills, a 13-year-old seventh grader from Bear, Delaware. Kiffin decision to go for Sills  came after the college coach spoke to Steve Clarkson. Clarkson is the former mentor of USC quarterback Matt Barkley and is currently Sill's personal coach. Clarkson told the following to Kiffin:
You might call me crazy, but you've known me a long time, right? And when I said if there was going to be a LeBron James of football it'd be Jimmy Clausen that turned out to be a pretty good prediction. And when I said Matt Barkley had the potential to be as good as Jimmy, he ended up winning Gatorade Player of the Year as a junior and starting at USC as a freshman, right? Well, I've got a kid now who is better than all of them and he's in Delaware. You gotta take a look at him.
Clarkson showed Kiffin a highlight video of Sills, and that's all it took. The coach called the kid's family, and after a conversation, Sills verbally committed to USC for its 2015 recruiting class. Is this for real, or is it just a gimmick? Who knows. All we can tell is that from the footage we've seen of the kid, he's got pretty good ball placement. Not sure if we'd extend a scholarship offer to him, thouhg. Then again, maybe that's why we're not a football coach. Take a look:

That kid is actually pretty good for 13. But I will say that there are tons of kids that age in California, Texas and Florida who are just as good, if not better. I think this kid benefits from being in Delaware, which, let's face it, isn't known for producing athletes, and so he's a novelty.

Yeah, he does look like he has skills. My problem with this is that the kid's in the seventh grade. He hasn't even played high school football yet. Now, it might be that when he does, he'll destroy the competition, but that's just too much pressure to be putting on someone who's still developing physically and mentally.
