Benicio Del Toro Wants To Fight El Santo And Blue Demon As Wolfman

Benicio Del Toro told the Mexican media during a press junket promoting his new movie The Wolfman that he'd love to reprise the role if his character faced off against El Santo and Blue Demon, the legendary lucha libre wrestling duo who made a name for themselves in the luchador genre-- films in which they fought against a slew of supernatural creatures. The Puerto Rican actor even has a Mexican director in mind:

With [Carlos] Reygadas, we could make a new version of Santo And Blue Demon Versus The Wolfman. I would watch these movies as a kid because that's what I enjoyed.

Reygadas is the director behind the films Batalla En El Cielo, Japón, and Silent Light-- a film that legendary American director Martin Scorsese called "surprising" and "very moving." We're not sure if Del Toro was just pandering to the Mexican press or he had the right movie in mind--the only movie where El Santo and Blue Demon face off against The Wolfman is 1973's Santo Y Blue Demon Contra Dracula Y El Hombre Lobo-- but Hollywood should really get the ball rolling on this project. It would be fan-freakin'-tastic. Seriously, we're so excited about it, we've already made the poster:
