Roberto Alomar's Ex-Wife Maripily Suing Him For Hiding HIV Status

After publicly defending Roberto Alomar against an ex-girlfriend who sued him last year for allegedly hiding his positive HIV status, ex-wife Maripily Rivera is now suing Alomar for the exact, same thing. Puerto Rican model, socialite and business woman Maria del Pilar Rivera, also known as Maripily, is suing Alomar for emotional damages she says she is suffering worrying about her health after Alomar allegedly lied about his health and engaged in unprotected sex with her.

Maripily, who is HIV negative, defended Alomar back in 2009 when Alomar's ex-girlfriend, Illya Dall, was suing him for the same reason. That case was settled out of court, the details of the settlement were kept private, but the case did reveal all sorts of accusations from Dall about when Alomar might have at least suspected he was HIV positive.

According to Dall, Alomar was warned by two different doctors to get tested for HIV as early as 2004 because of serious symptoms he was showing that were common to HIV positive persons. Dall says Alomar refused for years and even went so far as to tell her he did get tested and that tests had come back negative. Finally, according to Dall, he did get tested in Ohio in 2006, only after having reached the full-blown AIDS stage of the disease. According to Dall, she stopped having unprotected sex with him when she found out he had AIDS and they broke up in October of 2008. When she filed the suit in early 2009, Alomar's then girlfriend Maripily railed against the accusations, but now, it seems divorce documents between Alomar and Maripily reveal a countersuit on her behalf for the exact same thing.
