Governor Enrique Peña Nieto of the State of Mexico is a likely contender to win President of his country in 2012, so he published his most recent strategy for ousting the drug cartels in the UK's Financial Times. Why? According to The Economist, Mexican newspapers will rarely publish a commentary on content found in a competitor's publication, but the Financial Times, being in another country, was seen as no threat. So, he's gotten coverage on the article from all of Mexico's papers. Ehsmart.

Not so ehsmart: Why would anyone want to take on the daunting task of leading Mexico out of a vicious drug war? We should bottle these people's courage.
