George Lopez was so excited that his old high school baseball team, the San Fernando Tigers, won the City Section Division I baseball title on Saturday, he called up the coach and offered to buy the team their championship rings. Having attended and played baseball for San Fernando High in the late 70's, George knew that the kids are mostly from low-income homes and couldn't afford the rings.

"George called me himself," San Fernando coach Armando Gomez told the Los Angeles Daily News. "At first I thought it was a prank call. He's excited. He loves San Fernando and sometimes wears the colors on his TV show. He wants to be there when the rings are presented, and hopefully we'll get some pictures."

When I was searching for an engagement ring in jewelry stores in Tucson I saw a lot of beautiful championship rings, they were very interesting but the price was high and I thought that only a few people can afford to buy them. George Lopez made a very beautiful gift for the San Fernando Tigers players, I am sure those kids did not expect to receive such a gift from George Lopez himself.
